I'm currently looking into using the Google Adwords API. Because every request costs money I'm not sure if I will keep it, but while I'm testing it I want to share my domain findings.

Selection criteria:

  • at least 5.000 global monthly searches (Exact)
  • only .com, .net, .org and .info
  • no numbers, no hyphens
  • no names, no trademarks, just generic keys

Fields:

  • SG: Global Monthly Searches (Exact) - Approximate 12-month average of user queries for the keyword on Google search
  • CPC: Average "Cost per Click" for the keyword
  • TLDs registered: the TLDs the domainname is already registered

And here are the domains.

Sorry for the very big mail today regarding saved searches... There was a small snipped of code I used for testing and forgot to remove...

  • formatted the numbers in the listings
  • changed the column names of the status tlds fields
  • added more related links to the menus
  • fixed a bug in the Alexa fake check
  • fixed a bug regarding Quantcast rank checking
  • changed the time of the GoDaddy Closeout update (18:00 UTC)
  • added support for .xxx

I also tested google searches for the domain name and the word match. Worked very well, but from my point of view the results did not really help separating good domains from bad ones, so i decided not to release it.

Another thing I'm currently testing is the integration of the Adwords API for retrieving the search volume of the exact domain name match. Sadly the API is not free, but the results are very helpful. I also talked with a lot of backlink API provider if it would be possible to add there data here on the site. Current status: Yes it is possible, but it would cost a lot...

  • Almost all images are now packed together in sprites. That should result in less http requests and that should result in a faster load time.
  • I added two JavaScript menus to the domain listings with related links for the domain. If you miss links or want something else added, you can contact me.
  • The global search on the top right got revamped. In the background it is now using Sphinxsearch that is way faster than the old system.
  • The keyword domain finder is now running on a different server. That took a lot of load from the webserver.

There is a very good Video Interview on domainsherpa.com about The Inner Workings of Go Daddy Auctions – With Paul Nicks that covers a lot of questions I had about GoDaddys Aftermarket. There is also a Transcript for people who don't want to view the Video (~80 minutes). You can even ask questions in the comments and maybe get them answered by Paul Nicks (the GoDaddy Guy).

Here a small preview of questions that get answered:

  • What are Closeout and Value Price Domains?
  • Are GoDaddy employes allowed to bid on GoDaddy Auctions?
  • What stages does a GoDaddy Domain go through if it expires?
  • Go all GoDaddy Expired Domains trough that process?
  • What's the point of the annual $4.95?

The shutdown of the Yahoo Site Explorer was announced a while ago and now the time has come. On Friday 18.11. Yahoo officially put a date on it.

Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo!. Site Explorer services will not be available from November 21, 2011.

For backlink data here in ExpiredDomains.net I have decided to use Blekko for the time being, because they offer a simple, easy to use API and the contact was very friendly and helpful. I hope the complete integration will be done this week. Old Domains will still show the Site Explorer data, but this will fade out over time.

Currently I have problems with a Bot Infestation. I'm trying to get ride of them, but some are really persistent. In the last days I had to ban 200 4000 IPs and a country... I already know this from my German website where at some point I had to cut down the domain lists on the normal website and move them to the member area. So if you don't have an account yet, you should get one now!

*Update*
I've decided to cut down the domain lists and to remove some features from the website. You can still get all domains and features in the Memberarea.

GoDaddy Expired Domains

2011-08-26 - kostaki 1 Comment »

Today I added a new Domain List to ExpiredDomains.net. In the GoDaddy Expired Domains List you can find all currently listed Expired Domains from GoDaddy. These Domains are like the PreRelease Domains from NameJet, meaning that the current owner can still get them back but you can get a lot of them for a very cheep price. You need a GoDaddy Auctions Account or a Domain Alert Pro Account to bid on GoDaddy Expired Domains.

Today I added a new feature to the Memberarea. Now every domain will be checked for a Quantcast Rank and the result will be published on the site. I'm using the Top 1 Million List from Quantcast, so if a domain is on there and gets added to any list on ExpiredDomains.net you will know it. There is also a Filter that allows you to only see domains with Quantcast Rank. If you want to get more information on the Quantcast data for a domain, you can click on the Rank and you will be redirected to the Quantcast Website.

There are a lot of great features you can only find in the Memberarea and I want to use this post to show you what they are, so you can decide if you would profit from a signup. It is FREE and only takes a minute! If you don't have an account yet you can register here. I will updates this post over time.

Domain Name Status on different TLDs

statustlds

This is a very cool thing i really like to use. For every domain name you can see the current DNS status under different TLDs (.DE/.COM/.NET/.ORG/.BIZ and .INFO). So if you are looking for .COM domains and you only want domains that are already registered under .NET and .ORG, you can just add a filter for that and get the results in seconds. You can find it in every domain list and for every domain.
